Im a runner and the general recommendation is to “cross-train” because “its important” and “it will correct imbalances”. Which is probably true, but how exactly do you do that?

The general idea is that if these ratios are obtained then, not only will you know your strength is balanced, but more than likely, as a result, youll have full range of motion in all of your joints, and proper technique with your lifts. This could benefit all different types of athletes; including runners.

Just input any weight for any lift and see how your strength compares to the ideal strength for other lifts. If you are no where near those numbers, then it should be a clue that something is wrong.

Basically, If you can back squat so much weight, you should be able to deadlift so much more, or front squat so much less. If not, then it should clue you in that something is either wrong with your strength itself, your mobility, or technique.

Notes:
• The numbers may differ slightly from person to person, and its more than ok to be off. You may have a body type, or genetics, thats more suited for certain kinds of lifts.
